I’m sure this is me being too nit-picky, but I could not get past the wrong accent for Texans and the pronunciation of some of the southern words and names. I’m from south Louisiana so it bothered me for silly reasons. Anyway, the story was a little slow. I enjoyed a lot of aspects of it but I was annoyed they didn’t try harder to get out of the city before the hurricane hit. I like the characters and backstory so I plan to-read the next book.
