This series takes a different approach to an EMP. Joe is not a prepper, but his grandmother was and did help him.
It would be great to read a prepper book with the main character not prepared, really not prepared. No gun training, nothing. Following him as he learned how to stay alive and still keep his integrity. To see his relationships develop and to see his character grows into a leader.
In saying all that this was a good series. The evil portrayed is horrifying. The terror that women and children will endure in this series is, I can’t find the word, just painful and heartbreaking.
I enjoyed the character development. The description of America and what becomes of her is hard to hear.
