bad writing, bad story line, bad character building.

I thought I liked the first book in the series (listened to it long ago, on youTube)

this one, brings all ej russell’s faults to the front… and then it also adds too long, too convoluted a… can’t say either plot, nor story line, cause there are soo many in there.

is this about saving the glades? training the druid? breaking the MC’s curse? breaking more than one curse? healing fae? uniting all the seelie?

a good writer may put some of these, successfully, in the same story, but this one is not how it’s done.

and the dialog? I’d say is silly but it’s wright down stupid. one character says: “you’re under arrest for treason” and 3 lines after that, another one demands to know the charges (eye rolling).

too many characters appear out of nowhere and then disappear without doing their jobs, too many actions are “forgotten” so the characters can talk about them anew after a bit… bad writing at its finest (bad pun, good sample).

and, of course, there are too many untranslated foreign notions and phrases. some are welsh, some are gaelic, not always obvious which one.

it’s not even funny enough: there are only 3 or 4 good jokes in the 7 hours I listened before I broke.

even joel lesley’s narration is lacking: halfway through the story he swaps the voices for the MCs, and makes the plot even more confusing. he never messes the voices!! and he doesn’t know how to pronounce geas correctly in gaelic?! joel lesey?! mind boggling in the bad sense.

not worth the time, certainly not worth any price – and I got it for free.

pure bad
