Too much gore—not listening to any more books in the series.

The narrator was terrific—one of the best on Audible. The story was interesting and didn’t overwhelm you with increasing stats like other books of this genre. I can even handle the swearing, although I got tired of hearing the “f” word in every other sentence. But I will not continue listening to this series because of the unrelenting graphic descriptions of violence. Very few reviewers mention it—I don’t know if they are just immune to it or I am overly sensitive, but I almost gagged over the many violent deaths, decapitations, dismemberments, pus oozing, intestines and organs falling out…you get the idea. Dead prostitutes strung upside down in a “serial killers playroom” did it for me. I am disgusted and done with this series.
