This is one of my favorite thriller/mystery. Many of the twists I had guessed prior to reveal, which I actually quite enjoyed- and even felt the author lead us to feel clever about ourselves for figuring it out, without discounting the intelligence of the characters still unveiling. The last 2 twists were SO good! I kept wondering, “who sent the letters!?” I wouldn’t have suspected.
I love a good ending to a thriller, life is already tough I don’t like ending books feeling super hopeless, so this was refreshing.
The story was original. The narration was good- I appreciate they used different people to distinguish the perspectives. I loved the reveals. The pacing was perfect. Never ever felt dragged out. I enjoyed the each of characters, never got too stuck inside anyone’s head, but each character was rounded and believable.
This is in my top 10 for sure.
