in a strong series, this is a stand out title. you wouldn’t expect heavy concepts from a book about a reality show rpg dungeon, complete with wizards, but this inevitable ruin follows up on book 5 and 6 delving into the trauma that shapes us. moreover, 7 is a tipping point, introducing new forms of trauma and exposing the characters internal anguish. also, it’s funny as anything at the right moment.
