Purchased this after the author put up a sponsored post on Threads. Thought it was from another author and I like this genre so I went ahead and re-activated my Audible subscription (1 cent for first 3 months) and got this book.
Not sure what was worse – the writing or the narration. The combination of the two made for a truly awful book. Short chapters. Short sentence structure. This reads like a bad high school English assignment. Even AI could have done better than this I would expect. Characters are one dimensional. Action is predictable but the writing – it really is just so bad.
It was so bad, in fact, that I returned it for a refund of my credit worth exactly 1 cent.
