I can usually find something to like about a book, but this one… man it was bad. I was so unhappy that I unconsciously chose another book to listen to again instead of this… thing. I legit kept checking when it was written… it feels like straight 1950s, male dominated sci-fi, where the hero is ‘unknowable’ and mysterious but by today’s standard is just a straight a**hole. all the characters were just this one dimensional, expected archetypes… genuinely did not enjoy this.
