I honestly thought this was going to be some dude-bro fest. It turned out to be fun, well thought out, and creative. I’m glad I read it. I look forward to the rest of the series. I like the realistic, pragmatic way the characters handle such unrealistic, fantastical situations. I like that future scenarios were established in this book – it really hooks you into wanting to see how they pay off. I also like that, despite being the main characters, you’re not entirely sure they’re going to make it through the series.
