Picked this book up after I finished Dungeon Crawler Carl and was jonesing for more. Jeff Hays, the narrator, is the only narrator who I would put on the level of R.C. Bray. 5/5 easy.

The LITRPG aspect of this book scratches a “game” itch for me without actually playing one. Good if you are in the mood for it.

The MC is super unique and hilarious in concept! Its the whole reason you should give this book a try. The other characters are entertaining. There really is no overarcing story to this book though, some people aren’t going to like that. I didn’t really have a problem with it because of the nature of the MC and just enjoying the shenanigans he gets up to. Though I will say, I thoroughly enjoyed the ending and am curious how that will affect the story going forward. The comedy of this book; it is quite humorous and kept me engaged, but it rarely made me burst out laughing. I’m hoping the comedy finds its stride a bit more in later books in the series.

There are a few spicy scenes in this book. I personally enjoyed them. But prudes wont like it at all, and women who love reading smut books will be disappointed by the low grade spice. Take that for what you will.

I picked up the 2nd book and going to give that a listen. I read some reviews of the 2nd and 3rd books. Some reviewers pointed out some spicy scenes that………..aren’t my style. There is plenty of media that I enjoy that feature…..assault, in the storyline. And I was fine with those because of the context. So I’ll see how its handled in these next 2 books before I decide whether to drop the series or keep going.
