The author never tells us why everything we know about the world has come to an end. Nor does he explain things that have new names in the new world, for example, carts. Carts are pushed or pulled in this new world to carry belongings. So you think maybe they are shopping carts. Yet at some point, he talks about something that the character calls carts, yet they are clearly cars. I don’t think anybody can push a car.
The real problem I had with this book, though, is that the author can’t seem to stop introducing new clans, new names and new characters. There must be at least 50 characters ongoing in the books. They do not have names that are recognizable to us, and thus perhaps easier to remember. They have strange names that we might not even associate as a name, and definitely not as a word.
The end result is that it is all very hard to follow, and somewhat annoying.
