I hated this book at first. The first chapter or two was a real struggle to get through, as the main character is so painfully weak, and everyone around him is so unbelievably stupid. I gave it a chance, and I hope you are as surprised as I was. The main character grows significantly, his relationships with others improve as well, and the story itself is exactly what I want in a LitRPG; fun, fast progression, and interesting powers.
If you like LitRPG, there are a few things you might want to know. This iteration is not filled with cultivation. I can’t speak to the sequels, but this one isn’t about sitting in a cave and contemplating powers. This book is also not quite the same style of story as most LitRPGs, if you are familiar with the term isekai, this isn’t one of those second life style LitRPGs like the majority of them are. This is more along the lines of the anime Sword Art Online.
