Great geological action. His descriptions play like a movie in your mind. if you’ve been to the Big Island the impact is even greater. But…. the people and relationships are just awful. It would be beneficial if any of the leads were remotely likeable. As I listened I hoped the lava would cover them all. But no such luck. Akart continues to write ridiculous, unbelievable escapes that just make me roll my eyes. Ultimately, the science and action overcome the personal subplot. But only barely.
