Within the Mind is a sharp, eerie romantic suspense where Chevy’s ability to dive into memories pairs perfectly with Seneca’s talent for mimicry—together, they’re hunting a serial killer from within his own mind. Winters builds tension and emotional heat masterfully, especially when their playful banter gives way to truly dark, mind-bending discoveries. The pacing dips in places under some necessary but dense exposition, and some of the psychic mechanics feel underexplained. Still, it’s a compelling and imaginative start with a love the reader can root for and pulls you deep into both crime and connection.
