This is the final title in the Reckless Damned series, which although the summary says it can be read as a standalone, the previous books are really necessary to understand everything that’s going on and who all the side characters are. The dynamic between Dimitri and Dagon is beautiful, but the addition of Lucky really does make the story special. The dynamic between the three of them is natural and lovingly possessive. Both Dagon and Dimitri bend over backwards for their love and that love shines through the story wonderfully. Calley does an amazing job narrating Lucky, but Leslie’s performance was jarring, especially his portrayal of Dimitri’s accent. It made the listen a little more difficult, but the story is more than worth it, and the ending is truly beautiful.
