I was worried the story quality would suffer because I thought Matt Dinniman kind of painted himself into a corner. I was expecting this to be not as good as the first couple books and felt there were too many different details that would end up being ignored in order to keep the story moving along and keep up with a release schedule. I was very, very wrong!
Not only did the story stay true to it’s fun, irreverent and insulting self, but there were very clever ideas and solutions to seemingly impossible problems without coming across as Deus Ex Machina.
plus, there has been noticeable growth in all characters in both personal andcombat skills. I never would have expected this amount of quality writing and depth of characters when I chose to give the series a chance. I love it! And whatever they’re paying Jeff Hayes to narrate, well they should probably be paying him a lot more!
