This one had the potential to be a vibe, but it missed the beat for me. The chemistry between Rhythm and Channing started off hot—too hot, honestly—but there wasn’t enough plot to balance all that spice. By the second half, the story lost its groove. Raheem and Imani didn’t need that much page time, especially when there was still so much more to unpack about the FMC and MMC. I wanted more depth, more layers, more story. Whew —the narrators were not it. Their voices didn’t match the energy or tone of an urban romance, and it pulled me out of the experience more than once. This was a lukewarm read in the end.
