4.5 stars. I listened to the audio version of this book narrated by Connor Crais and Amelia Hugh. This duet narration was incredible. I usually find the male voice more appealing than the female’s, but in this case her voice really got my attention, too. Both voices were incredibly well matched for the characters.
I fell in love with the writing of this author years ago. This may be the first book I’ve read under this name, but the storytelling is still just as wonderful as in her other books. There may be a little more heat in this book than in her others.
This is the story of Cian going back to find the woman that rocked his world years ago and then disappeared. He happens to be royalty in a small country. Scarlett is the woman he’s looking for. She is a mechanic in a very small town in the U.S. She doesn’t know his background until he shows up again. Then she resists his efforts to get back together, due to the fact that she sure doesn’t see herself as princess material.
This was a really good book made even better by the narration of the audio. If you love a good romance with lots of character development, lots of family and some steam, you can’t go wrong with a book by Erin. This is also a fairly long one, so you’ll get lots for your money or credit!
Thanks to Home Cooked Books for the audiobook. All thoughts are my own.
