This author is one of my favorites. Quite honestly- at this point-I buy anything she writes- without even reading the description.

Sparktopia is creative, unique and well written just like all of her books but it really should be put into the young adult section of books. It’s definitely pg-13 which isn’t normally something I want to spend money watching or reading or listening to. PG-13 content just doesn’t stimulate my brain enough anymore. But that’s a personal problem I’m sure. I love her more heavily intense stories personally.

So if we remove my own personal preferences- that leaves the fact that this book is a good story and I imagine most will be entertained by it thoroughly.

The only real con I have is the male voice actor gets the voice inflections wrong at some points- making it sound as if the character is angry or irritated but then the wording eventually makes it clear that that is not the case as it was written. I think he’s trying to make his character come across tough when that’s not necessary since he was already written so well- his involvement is not needed. She wrote him clearly. We already know he is tough and he is strong and his sense of self and emotional intelligence is one hundred percent complete- and as such- the guy reading his parts does not need to make him sound gruff or short at any point. If that makes sense.
