This was a great and beautifully told story of women finding their place in the world once their own worlds were chaotically changed.

This was my first time listening to this author and I was pleasantly surprised. I would definitely be listening to the next book in the series.

A really cool short story set in a post-apocolyptic future. The narration was great and the writing was excellent (I really like this author). It’s the kind of fiction that could easliy be expanded into a full story, but is still very satisfying in its world building, characters and conclusion.

I couldn’t connect with the narrator. The voice doesn’t suit the characters. After multiple attempts, I was unable to finish.

I loved this book I definitely recommend I am definitely going to read the other books from the series!

This was a fun, and sometimes frustrating, listen. It took what was previously known about Viking women, added in some new discoveries, and threaded a plausible tale in the mix to create a fascinating tapestry that kept your attention and imagination. I was so in love with this story about two people who are great together. It took a moment but they are happy.

I knew it! The whole time! Wish she would have told though! Such a good story!!

I expected information about sewing and New Orleans. Very little of either. This is more about 2 women trying to survive with out husbands.

The novel was overly long with a slow-moving plot, but otherwise well written. I read it mainly for the New Orleans setting. More local flavor of New Orleans’ unique culture would have improved the book with maybe a Creole character, more French phrases, and New Orleans cuisine and architecture.
