Would have preferred even more NOLA and Mardi Gras influences. The children’s voices were unpleasant.
So repetitive, so predictable, so poorly written. Very amateurish offering; I was glad when it was over. It was my book club selection so I felt I had to finish it. And the narration sounded like Ginger from Gilligan’s Island, Sooo breathy and light.
I enjoyed the book. It started out slow and quickly picked up. I love the story of women empowering women.
I can see why this book was free and I still thought it overpriced. the narrators voice was grating on the ears especially when she tried to do the children’s voices. The writing was terrible and made these women appear weak and helpless. I figured out where this was going within the first half hour…

The prose is saccharine and overburdened with inane details. I repeatedly found myself wondering how did this get published.
The book tries so hard to be medical, but ends up coming off more of a series of humble brags. When citing medical evidence it sways between RCTs or big studies to random anecdotal quotes/advice from people. In the end of you have a basic science knowledge in exercise physiology, this book will add nothing…

This book is very, very good. I really enjoyed. It’s funny and hot is very good, and give you good information
This book was disappointing. As a seamstress living in Chicago, who adores visiting New Orleans annually, I thought this book would be a fun read….I was so wrong. The narrator’s voice was so irritating. She portrayed all of the women in this light, high voice, that made them sound like air heads. It was a..
