This book is terrible. The narrators are good but the content is trash. How does kidnapping and total control equate to love?
I was about halfway through when I realized I hated the story hated the male lead character and I’ve only done this once before (not being able to finish a book) there’s also a couple of scenes where the male actor whispers in this intense voice as if he’s trying to keep someone from hearing..

This is a very depressing story of a young 7 yr old girl, who spends as much time alone away from her mother and school kids as she can. Her mother is more interested in new boy friends than anything about her daughter or tge abuse she is suffering at school. As the years go..
I want to finish it but the male narrator’s voice does not fit the character and neither does the female narrator. She sounds older than this character and I agree with the comment about her sounding anxious. I can’t even tell if I like the story, too distracted by the bad narration.

Voice to MMC did not match. Was hard to get into Hayden’s dialogue because the narrating sounded like a slimey and creepy stalker versus an obsessed, loaded, and all consuming force. I NEED audiobooks to do better.

Extremely frustrating. Main characters are both ridiculous. I’ve already invested too much time to stop now though. I’ll listen to the 2nd book with hopes they both get hit by a truck…. Someday. Not anytime soon though. Surely the story gets better. Narration was good.
