I bought this book because the first one felt like half of a book, and I was hoping it would get better. The narrators were good, but the characters felt so underdeveloped. The tiniest bit of growth would have made this better.

I started this because of booktok and I don’t think I’ll be going for the second one. While I think I’ll get answers in the second book I just can’t bring myself to force my way through another one of these.. so very drawn out.. if I have to hear about these damn pearls anymore..

This book was okay… I feel like there was a lot of details that just didn’t matter and I wish it explained more background from the characters.

I wanted to like it. I kept waiting for it to get better, but by the end, I was just ready for it to be over.

I purchased at sale price & I wish I could return. I know I won’t listen to this again. It’s a little repetitive, the narration is ok, but most of all it just didn’t give what it was suppose to give. I was underwhelmed. I finished simply because I spent actual money. It’s not horrible…..

I like a passionate love story, but this is pure porn, plus a lot of cursing words. I truly believe that there’s no need to use so many bad words when you have access to a wide vocabulary, well this is not the case . So definitely No to the second book.

The main characters are so over the top dramatic it’s nauseating. Calista is a weird mix of Pollyanna and sanctimonious that it’s off putting. Hayden sounds like a victorian gothic windbag that never stops monologuing.

I wanted a thriller…. couldn’t get 1/4 way in with constant references to his hard cocktail. pass

this story could be really good if it had a different author. i like the idea of the story but it is told very badly. the pacing is absolutely horrible from the get-go. and there is zero build up to the two main characters relationship. both of them are insufferable as well. lastly, the ending..
