it took almost the entire first book for me to feel engaged, and even then I didn’t feel super into it. I did finish it, but only because I paid for it. this is one of those that I’ll likely not reread. performance was solid, but the story was meh.
Entertaining story with a decent ending. I think I Liked this series as well as some of her other sets.
Action scenes are good. Overall story arc is good. And I like most of the characters. My problem is with the female lead, Laney. She is too whiny and makes too many stupid mistakes for me. But that is just a personal preference….I don’t like the damsel in distress arc. I find myself fast forwarding..
I was a little disappointed with the end, on how Luna doesn’t end up with any magic. It makes me think of her ending up with Dominic which he then would have to watch her age and die and he wouldn’t as he is immortal. Even so, I really did enjoy it overall.
Loved that i could close my eyes and see and feel every word that was spoken and it sparked my core.
Narration style: Dual I had no idea what to expect from this book, and honestly,it was just okay. Jake “captured” Sawyer to protect her. It makes sense for their story, but it was still odd for Sawyer to fall for him. There were a whole lot of twists and turns, but the story didn’t really..
I love this giant interconnected series of trilogies! I wish I had not yet listened to them so I could get to listen to them again for the first time. Each trilogy is well-developed, with fully flushed out characters and challenges. The shared town/society and overlapping characters brings unity to the whole collection, and it’s..
