Despite feeling somewhat predictable, my overall experience was satisfactory and enjoyable. The sense of routine did not detract significantly from the positive aspects of the situation, and I maintained a sense of contentment and appreciation for the circumstances.

This 3rd book in the series is a fast pace one! The action and suspense starts from the very first chapters and keeps going throughout the book. Jake is the cop turned bad cop from the mafia family in Maine trying to help the New York mafia all the while protecting his own secret family..
So interesting and fun, even through the tense and almost frightening spots. Shannon Mayer is so clever how she hints at what’s to come but you have no idea how she’s going to make it happen. You’re left hanging on the edge of your seat waiting for the next book to be released.

I read many stories in this genre and I appreciate when diverse characters are highlighted. The gentle and loving development of Enrique and Caja’s relationship was very touching. Wonderful situations can happen in the midst of difficulty.
