Tam has created a detailed world with high stakes, compelling characters, and a storyline that pulls you in. If you enjoy epic fantasy with heart and ambition, this is a story for you. The narrator really brings the story to life.
I feel like this is a very good starter book into dark romance. Our MMC is her stalker and the man who unalived her father. He is completely and utterly obsessed with our FMC. He is jealous/overprotective of her, he has the mentality of touch her and be unalived. It does end on a cliffhanger..

Man this book was terrible. Terrible pacing, phrases/sentences used over and over, main character stupid and boring. At least half this book could have been cut out – it added nothing to the story. I laughed so hard when I saw that it’s the first in a series of four.
The writing style, voice acting, and spice were good. I just don’t like Kali and Hayden as a couple. I don’t think they should have ended up together and I wish Kali had been strong enough to listen to her gut. I am always down for a morally grey mmc who thinks he is doing..
