Can’t get through it. Keep waiting for the thriller part to start or even get a hint at it.

Started off kinda slow, wasn’t sure I could stick with it but then it hooked me. Unraveling this families dark past was done expertly well!

Woman’s voices for male characters was confusing and annoying, confounded by men with women’s names, Louellen, Jane, Ginger…. Characters were hard to keep track of, who, what, where, who was on whose side, who was sleeping with whom, how were they involved…
I never write reviews, this could have been trite and “yeah, yeah… heard that before…” and had maybe not the most original ending but for sure didn’t go down those paths of predictability. Loved the building of the characters. At first, I was skeptical of the novel at the first mention of supernatural. I was ready to give up. I pushed forward. The book was less about the “possible” supernatural influence and more about miss understood circumstances. Worth the read.
I will begin by writing that the narration is wonderful and so it was a real easy listen. The plot was good, but more important was the depth of the offer as she describes trauma and heartache. I look forward to reading more by this author.
It took a while to get into this book, but I am glad I stuck with it. There were a few unexpected twists and turns, and the narration was excellent.
