Great story for the Sherlock fan; mystery, murder, conspiracies, as well as many of Holmes’ famous ‘isms. one major draw back is the constant back an forth between “from the journal” to the present, lent to some confusion for me personally. But over all a great story.

I found the story rather complex, with quite a few characters and locations to keep track of. Still, I found it interesting to compare how this story was written to how the original Doyle tales about Holmes were constructed. This story has a much more modern style, with much more jumping around among parallel story..
As if it weren’t enough to have both the masterful storytelling of Larry Millet and the extraordinary performance of Steve Hendrickson, you get the intrigue and genius of Sherlock Holmes and the expansive breath of fresh air and expertise of Shadwell Rafferty all at the same time in the same story working the case this..
