My expectations were very high going into this. Though it didn’t quite meet my expectations of a “god-tier” or “6 star” read for me, I did enjoy it. Mamoru and Misaki’s mother and son point of views were a fun insight into the role of a firstborn warrior son and a warrior girl turned mother..
It was a great coming of age story. Love, hurt, loss, discovery, and protection all in a fantasy setting.

this is purely based off my ignorance of culture. I cant name 1 common Japanese name and in this book they all have unique Japanese names i cant pronounce and it’s overwhelming trying to remember who is who when I cant even remember a single one of their names. im beyond lost at who did..
mc lacks common sense has no context of any situation and asks questions already answered.. Insults on the same level of a 5th grader.. Terminology of everyday occurrences noone uses.. The story is good the path interesting the mc infuriating
Each character is fully realised with different tonality, allowing for an excellent story to be beautifully told. Had this recommended to me, so will now be recommending to others
This book in the series really capture the transition of how things are unfolding. Was just 1 person before now almost a new place to call home to where they can grow and make a come back and change everything in the game
Too much inner monologue, too much explanation of stuff thats been explained for the last 7 books, and ZERO story progression. The characters accomplished zero of their tasks! Save one of your friends NOPE!, reclaim the sector NOPE! Just hours of the same BS over and over again.
