I like the morality of the characters in conjunction with the reality of having to do hard things to survive. This isn’t one of those hard core apocalypse stories that can be more depressing. It’s more like the hero adventure stories. More fun than heartache.
To wordy. Kept repeating the same thoughts five different ways. Was like the author had a certain number of words to reach so stretched it out.

Zombies are background noise in an angsty teen edgelord made for TV Lifetime story. The MC is a toolbag, and everyone else is about as shallow as it gets. Save the credit and gamble on something else. You will loose this bet.
Unbelievable and one of my favourite books I’ve ever read, downside is the last chapter made no sense at all but I just have my own canon ending in my mind.

(I am female and lately every post apoc book has had some whiny or weak or demanding female lead, which drives me nuts bc there is no break from it. this was great with great characters for both genders!)! worth..

This second book was not nearly as engaging as the first one was but it was still enjoyable
I really like the FMC in this book. She is complex and nuanced. This book is also a great example of a fantasy book that does not info dump and keeps the action moving. There is always something new and surprising happening even after the traditional climax. The only thing that took some getting used..
I so wanted to like this, but it just didn’t hit for me. The voice actor didn’t help the already flat characters, they all have pretty much the same voice. The story is interesting but I didn’t connect with any of the characters and the dialogue was awkward bordering on cringy in places.
