Enjoyed the story. Narrator is painfully slow and has weird inflections. Had to listen at 1.2x speed just to have a normal pace.
This story spent way too much time in setting up the universe. Too much time spent on the main character’s flaws. I found myself begging for the plot to take off and when it did, it was slow and dragged on in order to fit all of the other characters with it. By then, I..
I liked the mission they were on. I also liked most of the detail in the story. Sometimes it was a little too much. The action (when there was some) was pretty good. But was over before it began. The guy reading it did very well.
The previous books in this series were pretty good. Seem to be written for a younger audience I think, but ok none the less. However, towards the end of the last book, and throughout this book, something has changed. Not sure if the author had something happen, or if someone got in his ear, or..
The story is unique however very mediocre. The character and relationship development is nonexistent, things just seem to happen. *Minor spoilers* the team gets thrown together and instantly become friends that are willing to throw down their lives for either. I was waiting for it to end to move on to another story.
I like the strategy systemMaybe the M.C. is a little annoying with overthinking but it’s still a nice storyWill definitely try book 2
I appreciate this series because the books aren’t short. The author has also made the series and the one before it – free. Which means- days worth of entertainment. Thank you for that!!
Narrator was good as usual. I am glad they stuck with the same narrator throughout the whole series. A lot less action in this one, but at least it’s over. Always someone trying to kill them throughout the entire series, but no one ever dies that wasn’t already dying. Ben is overly critical of people..
