This book/series is no great work of literature. Just a lot of a dad patting himself and his kid on the back for doing basic things. No surprises, nothing terribly exciting. Predictable and uninteresting. A lot of talking about guns in a very basic way. None of the characters have any depth. The narrator is..
outstanding

Literally 1/2 of each book is filled with almost stream of consciousness rambling about every thought, every worry, every what-if, every self-doubt, every pang of longing that accompanied any actual task, decision or action. I was so annoyed with having to have Spencer’s every wayward thought..
Alot of SMH moments…
