Some of the phrasing was unnecessarily wordy. The author also used words that were too complex, words that people do not commonly use. At times, it was a distraction from the story.
It’s hard to review without spoilers but I will try my best. I will say I like the way in which our MC gains his levels and all. It doesn’t feel cheap a throw at him as an easy win because BOY is there risk! That said his powers and skill set I also like..

good flow, the story held my interest and I enjoyed the characters. I enjoyed that you had different groups that shouldn’t get along but did when all hell broke loose.
I expect war and major Character developments in the next book. This was a story about how this story proceeds and the foundation and direction of a serialized story. Good choice to write this.

I have enjoyed this series immensely, but the pacing slowed down in the last two books and has slowed to a crawl in this latest entry.
