It was all great. The only thing that got on my nerves was the gross use of the word “scant.” I am not a fan of the word. Each book has done this though. I just decided to say something this time. Simple language is fine, but overused words that aren’t as common aren’t wise..
Just could not finish this one. The story dragged. Nothing held my attention. Too wordy.
A book that felt like a breath of fresh air with intriguing perspectives not seen in fantasy. It has emotional elements that draw you in and an amazing world building and character. A shorter book that could have been a series.
Incredible story, incredible dynamic between family and superb character development across the board. Must read if you enjoy fantasy or want a touching story about family and duty
the story is good. it’s very heavily steeped in a respect for samurai culture and a very engaging story. I just wish the reader had taken 5 minutes to learn som basics. ichi ni(knee) not (N-eye) (toe-san) not (two-san) and many other agregious butcheries of a language the author obviously took time to learn, but..
I wish there was more to read , I want to know how the rest plays out

Wonderful diverse imaginative and fun adventure the entire way through. There is always some action or mental puzzle to keep the reader involved and waiting for the next discover. Great book that keeps the entire family entertained
