I love this I couldn’t stop listening. This was a great story. I loved it all the characters, the world building and the drama. I can’t wait to get the rest to finish the story. The narrator was fabulous. I highly recommend.
likes: the continuity over 8 books was good. The character growth was good and most things made sense. I really appreciated that there was just enough of an explanation for the creatures to be believable. Also, I loved how people who didn’t function “normally” in society excelled when the world came down for different reasons…
no teacher would ever leave a child behind. no Marine would leave a child behind. no father would leave another child behind after going after his own. the prisoners were very mild mannered overall. not sure the author understands human nature. i bought the whole series for a credit and am stopping with 17 hours..
Although this included books 1-3, I stopped at the end of book 1. The writing was poor, and the characters were so dumb they did not deserve to survive. After the EMP nobody seems interest in what happened nor why. No one is worried about other nukes, radiation, or invasion. Most people seem to have..
Wish the author didn’t decide to try and do one book for each new movement. He is very repetitive, far too much over explaining & inner dialogue. Shame, as the first several books didn’t do this and were good.

This book was exciting, at times extremely fast paced, with very enjoyable characters. However, like an extremely rich dessert…….. sometimes too much can spoil things. This series had so much stuffed in it that I think storylines which could have best beenexplored in another series. I would definitely read another book by these two authors.

Many times in the book it was hard to guage and understand distances. For example: Brenda’s cabin was a “3 hour walk” from the lodge. However, they were having to sneak around the field so they wouldn’t be seen from the lodge. Really?! 3 hours seems like a good distance. Then the power station/ dam..
