Great book, good narrator. Purchased on a whim and am satisfied with my decision. Looking forward to #2

I think of LitRPGs like the old phrase, if you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all. there is little to distinguish this story from others in the genre, but that being said, it isn’t bad. If the genre appeals to you, and it doesn’t matter much if there’s little at stake, and that the character..

it’s a fun and corny premise. Could have been a dirty pleasure of mindless fun. But so many problems with the writing. Firstly, the authors don’t seem to have heard of the writing rule of, ‘Coincidence can get your hero into trouble but should never get them out of it’. Quite a few times I..

Review from This Quest Is Broken! →
All the constant snarkiness, mismatched love triangles, and white knighting made me feel like I was reading a harem fantasy. The dialogue is extremely basic. The sound was crisp and easy to understand, but there was not much difference between the character voices. Was constantly getting confused as to who was talking to who.

the writing is done well but i feel like the style has degraded or changed for some reason. there is a lot of exposition. there’s just too much information presented I dont need to know about. why tell me the name of an enemy you’re about to kill? why tell me about every characters motive?..
Filler, so much filler.

What I expected to be wrapped up in the 1st chapter (securing the troops and a relationship with the city) was practically the whole book. For some reason we spend a whole book on 5 days of nonsense and political infighting for what is basically a side quest. With this pacing there is either going..
Overall, good read. I would recommend it. Much better than some zombie series where the characters have infinite ammo. Character development was good, but characters regressed to patterns of thought that wouldn’t have happened had the character actually gone through event within the Omnibus. I will admit that the book flow tended to have some..

I enjoy this adventure. I appreciate an MC who can actually make decisions right away and not him-haw around. I do wish that the big fights were more detailed. there is big lead up to the fight and then bam, big bad guy is dead. I get that this book was probably more to progress..
