The character building was dynamic filled to the brim. There was war, with gut wrenching scenes, driven home by a perfect narration for this story. Gripping til the end. An end that finished one part, but promised more, and I can’t wait for it.

I’ve read 10-11 books about the Vikings. This one is right in the middle in terms of quality, insight, and readability. There are better breakdowns of the culture and better versions of the stories. It’s good as an overview.

I enjoy the series, and was really looking forward to this installment. Unfortunately, it’s quite a bit shorter than the other books, and not much really happens in it. I’ve been listening to everything by Bruno Miller. Just can’t get enough. Waiting for book 3 of Durango Chronicles.
