Too much right wing rhetoric, It would have been better if it just stuck to telling the story
Six person shooter

Interesting characters but I found it distracting how certain words are used so repetitively and not quite correctly. To me, the author would be better off using common language. Every reference to a dog‘s mouth doesn’t have to be “maw” especially when the dog is licking his chops awaiting a treat. “The murk” could occasionally..
Narrator was good, as always. The first half of the book was good, and would have possibly been my favorite one of the series. Possible spoilers below. ….A giant fast spreading fire, near death experiences in a river during a shootout, lots of fast paced action and a lot less of the monotonous inner monologue..
I absolutely love the Stratton series. However, how is is possible for Replacement to look up at the mountain that Jack is on? From Derrington?I realize it’s a fictional story, but dang. maybe Santa can fly everyone back to town.
Truly amazing.. both the story and performance. Whirlwind of emotions reading this! It’s also great as an immersive read.
The story line was good, if a bit predictable. The narrator does not seem to have ever met a teenager or have any idea how they inflect or anything about cadence. It was like listening to a poorly acted high school play. The telling of the story should have enhanced it, but it detracted from it.
Not my usual genre, but I was pleasantly surprised. Was kinda disappointed at the end… I wanted more time with these characters. Nobody was unrealistically “macho” and equally no one was a “whiny wimp”.
