with each new book the problem is getting worse and worse i find myself skipping over large chunks of story due to the mc just talking to himself and repeating the same thing over and over.
The idea of the story is a compelling one, but thats about all the positive I can say about this book. The main character has the total opposite of a development arc, its like a regression arc. Instead of overcoming her flaws or being better/doing good despite her flaws, we see her strong and driven..
The narration is awesome. intentional inflection and tone made the story far more enjoyable. The MC is a little childish and the story sometimes feels on rails but it otherwise a good story. I think it will continue to be a good series.
The series keeps getting better, and the maim character continues to progress in power and influence.
Fantastic story, awesome narration. The story seems to go all the mc’s way, but then … the struggles give the story the depth it needs.
No harems, no slavery, no rape fantasies, no racism, no sexism. Lot’s of blood, guns, blades and growth. I almost did not chose this novel because a review painted the protagonist as an overly sensitive adult emo crybaby. I am so glad I decided to take a risk. I am a 6′, 230lb heterosexual male..
