This series starter was well written and kept me entertained. Andrew Tell did a fantastic job of bringing the story to life and making this as fun to listen to as it was to read. I received an ARC of this audiobook and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
The EMP was just a vehicle to get Ryder out of jail. It was a good series just not what I was expecting.
The heroine was an exhausting mental case. Less from her perspective and the story would have been better. I fast forwarded through a lot to bypass her angst.
I thought it was really powerful. I expected a lot more action based on the beginning and middle of the book. Wasn’t in love with a ton of loose ends but a really amazing character story all around. The evolution of Misaki’s and Tekura’s relationship was really well done and appreciated the different take.

I’m not usually one for EMP story’s but this one caught my attention and it was well worth the read!! Kind of left on a cliff hanger, so I’ll definitely be looking out for book # 2. We’ll written and well narrated.
