This was probably my favorite of the Dark Road series and the Durango Chronicles. I have thoroughly enjoyed all the books. Ben gets on my nerves with all his over thinking and second guessing, but it makes him more relatable.
This one introduces some fun new characters and it adds more to the adventures of our favorites. The Dead Fields make for an interesting environment. The humor continues to be charming, tho I’ve read it too many times to be surprised into laughter anymore; I still find it amusing and heartwarming. I highly recommend this..

Characters were inconsistent. Narration voices were not great. Thought it might improve but only did a bit. Sad to say but glad this is over.
