Well paced and had a great balance of action and character building. Always remained engaging and gave a thirst for more .
The narrator was flat with odd inflections at times, and the writing contained a lot of redundancies. The qausi-Asian setting was cool and the characters were likable. overall the book is good but not great.
I really enjoyed this story. I loved the subtle comedy and the interesting way the magic was woven into the tale without completely taking over. The little twists were nice as well. I think some parts were a bit drawn out and there could have been more frightening sequences, but it was a good read..
If an author wants to objectify women, that’s fine but make it equal and objectify the men as well. This book has a really fun story but the author seems a bit too interested in rape.

The group occupying the lodge is eking out a difficult, yet peaceable, existence, except new baby JJ is not well — he needs serious medical intervention that has, thus far, been impossible to find. A potentially dangerous outsider..
I’ve listened to this book twice. highly recommended for those interested in bush life and those who know Stan from the TV show.
Megan finds a woman alone who must protect her daughter Caitlin after all tech are virtually wipe by the EMP. When Caitlin falls ill, Megan makes contact with Wyatt Morris and his family, who are surviving in a remote cabin.
There was much I liked about this book. First, the world as we know it is no longer there with all it’s technology and governments and such. While everyone believes that a large powerful EMP is the reason, the details are left sketchy, which I found very believable in this new world of limited communications…
