This book blew me away. The characters feel so real, and the story dives deep into family, responsibility, and how war and propaganda shape people’s lives. It’s not just about battles it’s about what those battles cost. A powerful, emotional, and excellent read.

The narrator over-dramatizes a lot of the dialogue, making it sound SO. INCREDIBLY. INTENSE. OR. SHOUTY. It just kinda makes me not love some of the characters when so much of what they say communicated with next level emotion or dramatization. I’d like to see the narrator dial it back a bit.
