One of the best books I’ve read and highly recommend! The realism of dealing with war and loss and how the family grieve but have to continue moving forward.

This story just won’t end. Wrap it up already. If I have to listen to Ben soliloquize and mansplain why he didn’t want to do the thing he’s getting ready to do in front of the kids I’ll drive an ice pick into my eardrums
With promising premises in political intrigue and a rich fantastical history inspired by Asian cultures, the Sword of Kaigen falls short, relying on the all too common tropes and stereotypes that bog down the modern young adult fiction genre. It reads like an underdeveloped anime that is trying to convince you it is serious.

Liked the mystery and the back and forth of the story. Kept you wondering. Also enjoy the two main characters differences.
