I really like how the characters are developed in this series. The story and its depiction of family, friends and loyalty overcoming adversity is inspiring.

The end was good. It left me wanting more. I wish we had learned more about the missing parents. Seemed both a major part of the story and yet almost an after thought at the same time. I would try the second book once available but if it’s not good I wouldn’t continue the series.

I have become a great fan of Mr. Bruno and Mr. Tell while reading this series. I’m impressed with both of their different talents. I highly recommend this series and cannot wait to get to the next book!

The series is good but as in every series it gets dragged out to long.

Spoiler. This book was a bit improbable. This went from everyday life to apocalypse before they could walk out of the mountains. 300 million people in America seemed to evaporate in 2 weeks.
