Ben is a dumbass and whiney bitch, the author has little understanding of actual weather patterns across the US or gun knowledge. It’s also ridiculous that within weeks weeds have just overgrown everything. Thank goodness these books were free.

I am interested in the outcome, but simply couldn’t handle the pacing any longer. Need to strike a better balance between the introspective nature of this tale and the story itself.The narrator was talented, but also so very slow and deliberate in his speech. I sped it up and it sounded more natural.

If only the main female lead was written as such an emotional wreck. The book had a great opportunity to be good if only the female lead was strong like Brenda.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first five books in the series and was genuinely excited to continue the journey. Unfortunately, as the story progressed, the writing became bogged down with excessive descriptions, repetitive emotional reflections, and an overabundance of internal monologue. I did like the speed and characters. Kind of a gentle story I wanted to end villains much faster. This could be a good story for young adults as lacking in violence.
