Another great Grace Hamilton book. I don’t know how she keeps up with so many titles.
what a disappointment, probably the worst attempt at writing an apocalyptic survival type novel i have ever started. I didn’t even make it to the fourth chapter of the first book.
I heard that this is like a Avatar with Samuri mixed in story. Everyone on tiktok said this was amazing 5/5 story. Although this does have great messages, it’s not amazing IMO. Its still a good story and can’t wait to see what else this author writes.
Looking forward to this one since everyone was raving about it but it was disappointing. Took forever to get to the action part, which lasted a few chapters and then it slowed down again and dived into the politics of the story. Lots of loose threads left hanging, maybe for a possible sequel. Overall pace..

Good story and would definitely listen to another sequel. Hated the way she used alternate words for telling time as it could be confusing.
I was going to book for the excitement and destruction. I literally fell asleep not once but twice before half way in to the book. I don’t recommend this book.it had promise but was unbelievably unbelievable from minute one. Sorry but i literally deleted it from my library and wasted a credit.

You can tell when a writer runs out of things to say and is trying to fill pages when every 4 or 5 minutes someone is chewing or biting their lip, it’s annoying. Overall the series has be good, this one just dragged a bit with filler.
That was a wonderful engaging story! It started out very juvenile, like a YA Asian Fantasy novel, but it got really good after the first several chapters, and kept moving forward methodically. There were a few tropes and a few surprises but very human emotional themes and drama. The culmination of the chapter “The Duel”..
