This was a book that was hard to listen to a points mainly because I can speak Japanese at N5/4 levels. Great story but needs better direction on how to pronounce Japanese or at least Japanese derived words.

The hope that if the world does turn into a mess such as this series, there may be a few good men left to start over

While the book has an over-abundance of introspection and second guessing, the plot moves, and there is more development of the main characters progression. I hope the next book will continue in this one’s favor.

I only got this book after many reviews claimed it was underrated. Took me about 5x longer to finish this book because it just never really grabbed my attention. It’s not until late in the book that it really even begins to pick up but it only lasts a few chapters. Anyone claiming this book..

Amazing story, world-building and characters. The performance was good too, but the mispronunciation of almost every “Japanese” word was infuriating and took away the immersion

Very Basic. Feels like it was written by someone that did their technical research by watching a pristine cop show or something. The firearms nomenclature “kick back”, “clip” a .357 that shoots like 10 rounds. It’s just very lazy.
