The storyline itself was pretty decent, but the writing was grating . It felt like the author was a recent graduate from a creative writing class. Far too many similes. Far too many. All. The. Time. They were a cringey distraction. None of the voices / speech patterns felt very authentic either… The lead detective..
Of all the books in all the worlds, make this the one you don’t download. The story, the setting and the scenery might urge to you to beg to differ. But trust me. Just don’t.

It’s an interesting, twisted story complete with good guys, bad guys, and self-serving folks. Lots of intrigue.
This was a difficult book to follow because they introduced so many characters and when you are listening, that can be hard. I had to relisten to parts of it several times. But once I got the characters down, I really still didn’t feel like the storyline was that exciting. Maybe my standards are just..
