Interesting characters, tense situations, incomprehensible aliens to kill before they kill you. If you need more, why are you reading space opera. The time cycle repeat concept is no more crazy than FTL. Really it comes down to that first sentence.
I really like the story, and I love the main character. However, given that this was published in 2017, and there isn’t a follow up I am quite disappointed.

For a story that is pretty mundane, you cannot help but be interested in the characters involved. It is a story of good people growing and changing, while looking forward to the next step they take. This will take you by surprise at how good it is.

So many breathtaking moments made these stories a great listening experience. Mr. Wood has a talent for describing the environment. And what can I say about Jeffrey Kafer? He’s simply the best!
Stereotypical characters, sexist treatment of female characters. Writer puts female characters in skirts and “pumps”! Main macho character beds all young attractive females. Don’t bother unless you are a teen boy.
